How accurate are the calorie-expenditure readings on treadmills, steppers, etc...?

Basically they give you only a generalization. They only take into account your weight.....not your stride length, height, frame size. They are good for a generalization but not for specific information.

Nice question. The only hole I see in it is that the recent overthrowing of Middle Eastern governments hasn't led to democracies sprouting up in the affected countries. Sure the media has implied that it may be so. But for the most part there haven't been leaders of the uprisings that have come forward and clearly stated that democracy is their main objective. So what should we do? Absolutely nothing. We can send aid and we can back the protesters in spirit. But as of late we have shown that as the beacon of democracy around the world. Even we, the United States of America, arguably the greatest nation on the face of the planet, can't seem to make democracy work within our own borders. The two waring factions on the left and right claim to have all the answers and in the end make a bigger mess than what they started with. Then next morning she walked out of the bathroom in order to get a towel, no doubt she knew I would see. I joked and said that was evil. That night I asked if she wanted to jump in the shower with me but she said she didnt want to. I asked if she was still upset with me. She said no. We talked about us and she basically said she would have to think about us getting back together. That she did love me and was pretty sure she was still in love with me, and the baby missed me alot. 2 days later after the funeral she said her dad would be spending the night but i could if i wanted. She felt more protected when i was there. I said i would only if she wanted me to. That i wanted to be there but not just as a protector. She went on an on about it till i offered to come kill it. When i got there she was in the backyard laying out in a bikini with the baby in a plastic pool. No snake was found so I decided to leave. (think this was a set up). The next day she called to come get my spare key to the house saying she left hers at her sisters. She then asked are you sure your not busy? Im not interupting anything am I? I said no just call when she gets to the light. It took ten min for her to get here. (usaully takes 25 min or so) so i know she was already on her way when she called. Kinda like she was trying to catch me with another or something. 2 days later i went over there and said I needed to know what was going on between us. She said that when i left she realized she should of missed me more than she does. That maybe she doesnt love me as much as she thought. I said well i cant make you love me. And she said no i do love you. that as of right now she didnt want to work it out. So i said ok and i left. Havent called texted or heard from her in a week. My question is if she didnt want anything to do with me why would she have me spend the night after the breakup. she could have called anyone else to come stay with her. I get a cold every year at the change of seasons and I end up with a cough I can't get rid of. Organic cat food for feline leukemia?

I have a cat with feline leukemia. Because of this, he has to be fed a prescription food or otherwise he will develop crystals in his urine which can be dangerous. I would rather feed him cat food from a place like Whole Foods because I feel it will be more healthy food without meat by-products and hormones but when he was fed this type of food he developed crystals in his urine probably because of the ash content or the ph balance in the food. Does anyone know of a cat food which which is not commercial and will not hurt my cat that is organic? I'd be willing to mix up the food myself if I had to. So far, I have been mixing up half organic, half prescription food and he seems to be doing OK but I would like to find organic cat food that will not hurt him. Thanks.

okay so i moved into a new place with a terrific deck. I have it all set up with comfy chairs, pretty flowers, etc. it is really great. BUT it was dark in the evening, so i hung some simple outdoor string lights around the perimeter, and it was perfect, it really created a nice look and I could see! Try relaxing throughout the day taking deep breaths whatso and it might help with your sleeping and clear your head. To hit through a plateau just up intensity, nourish yourself and enough sleep. I have a one year old, indoor DSH. I feed her Wellness grain free wet food, plus a little dry food at nighttime. I give her one can of the wet food a day and probably a half a cup of dry food at night. I weighed her today and she's 10 pounds. My brother and i were twins so as you can imagine extremely close we could finish each other thoughts it was almost creepy to a point. Well my brother married his high school sweetheart (My brother and i are 24). They have two son's a 2 and 4 year old. And i love my nephews more then anything there both so adorable. Well i am engaged myself and i love my fiancee so much and she loves me well my brother was killed in iraq around 3months ago. How come we don't hear the car's engine on TV like the Shell commercial and this cool Red Bull video?

Having been in the pits for a few races in the past (courtesy of the old ARROWS F1 Team), I can tell you that this doesn't even come close to the real sound. When you're near the car, you can FEEL the sound. Even with earplugs, its physically painful. What you hear on TV (or your computer) is as good as it can get, remembering that the cameras have either telephoto lenses (meaning that they're no where near as close to the car as it looks), and the in-car camera is set in front of the engine - and most of the sound is behind the car.

My husband and i have been ttc for quite some time now. I had my period on December 16, 2009. My cycle is about 26-28 days. I have been using an ovulation calender because ovulation test just get too expensive. Per the calender my fertile days are from about the 24th thru the 29th with ovulation being on the 29th or somewhere around there. We had on the 24th then twice on the 25th. I noticed that after the second time on the 25th a very small amount of very light pinkish blood. We did not have on the 26th but we did on the 27th and Jan. 3rd. Glucose Tolerance Test?

I had a glucose tolerance test performed on me just a couple of days ago. After drawing the first vial of blood we asked what my blood sugar was before drinking the orange sugar drink( I also had not eaten anything). My blood sugar was 91 without eating or drinking anything. My parents are concerned that I have diabetes, and the results do not come in for a few more days. I have headaches all of the time. When I eat sugar my headaches go away. The other day when I had the test done I had a terrible headache, and when I drank the orange sugary drink my headache went away, but returned minutes later(even worst). I also have purple/blackish colored toes, dizziness, irritability, blurred vision, and I have dropped 10 pounds over the last few months(without changing my diet). I am concerned that my blood sugar drops sometimes and spikes up sometimes. Please answer my question!

Hi, I am 39 weeks pregnant and went to the doctor yesterday where they told me I was 2 to 3 cm dialated, 50% effaced and the station was at -1. Today I have had quite a few braxon hicks contractions and lost my mucus plug. I did have with the hubby, so I don't know if that is how the mucus plug fell out... but it did when I was in the shower afterwards. I just feel like it is almost time, I packed my bags today... I am not due until monday. Also, it feels like the baby has been moving around so much more than normal today. I always thought that the closer you get to labor, the baby slows down.... What do you think? I haven't had too many BH contractions up to this point.. I guess I am just restless and more excited than anything!

I find it difficult to concisely convey my thoughts. I'll often listen to others speak, or read articles or quotes, and be impressed (and envious) of how they/it were/was able to clearly, fluently, and eloquently say what they needed to say; especially concerning matters or thoughts that, to me, seem difficult to articulate. I have a childhood friend who I can't get rid of. She is very toxic, basically a frienemie. Her and her family are very obese, she used to get tormented as a child so overcompensates by acting like she is better then you, gossiping non stop, I mean to the point that her and her mother sit at the kitchen table talking about people. Though I've known this girl for so long she knows nothing personal about me. Every time we talk it's about her giving me more gossip on people I have not seen or spoken to in about 10 years who I don't care about. As we got older I realized we had 0 in common anymore and I would stop retuning calls, we pretty much never hung out as I knew that she was only interested in more gossip bc the girl has always been so miserable with her life. I don't return calls, haven't in about 5 months every call unanswered, don't answer any ims or texts though I said thank you when she texted me happy thanksgiving yet she continues to call. I adopted my boys 14 years ago from Russia and have been under the impression all this time that they were citizens because I've been told that since both their adoptive parents are citizens they became citizens too. Recently we found out that they that they aren't citizens because only one parent (me) went over to get them. They can't become naturalized until they are 18. I never had their green cards renewed because I didn't realize I needed to. Now their green cards have been expired for 4 years, can they be renewed or do they need new ones, if that is even possible.

Under no cirstances should you subject your children to that environment or father (who has major issues) any longer than you absolutely have to. I have 4 boys and there is no way that if my ex were like yours, that I would let them go over any more than court ordered. As far as how to explain to him the visits are for him only, just come right out and say it. The first few times of letting him know exactly what the deal is, is very hard. After a few times it gets easier to maintain your control in this situation. You have to realize your the only protection those kids have. The courts can only do so much. Also there should be a designated place for him to see his child and that doesn't include hanging out with current girlfriends. If there's not a designated place maybe you should file to obtain a mutual place where he can come to see the kids. That would take pressure off of you having to explain not hanging out.
