Ive liked him for 6 months and still havnt got anywhere!?

Ive been patiently waiting for this boy to split with his girl, i didnt ask him too he just did. But we used to chat on messengers, but more recently. He started to flirt with me a little and we spoke a bit more in person. The tricky thing is, he only just split with his girlfriend and im not sure if he's ready for another relationship yet, but ive waited so long. I also dont want to ruin what we do have by asking him out, please give your advice thankss xxx
