Can cause absence seizures?

I'm epileptic and have experienced absence seizures and grand mal seizures in the past. I am triggered by things even as simple as flashing lights while crossing a bridge at night. I don't know if this is crazy, but I really feel like is causing mild absence seizures in me. This isn't during , only during self-stimulated s. Is this possible?
