Would he thinks its weird if i get him a christmas present?

so i have been seeing this guy for two months now and we go out every weekend together and neither of us are seeing anyone else we just are not "officially" boyfriend and girlfriend; our statuses still say single, so i wasn't sure if he'd think i was being pushy or anything if i got him a christmas gift. i saw one that i believe he would love but its sort of sentimental and has to do with his grandfather. would it be ok to get it for him or would it some how push him away because i really want to be his official girlfriend and don't want to do anything to jeopardize the potential. any thoughts or advice?
